About this notebook
Understand the layers.
Lab Notes collects practical explanations of the systems behind everyday web work.
What belongs here
Linux services, networking, DNS, HTTP, TLS and the useful tools that connect them. The aim is to explain a system clearly enough to make its behavior understandable, including the assumptions and limits.
How the notes are written
Articles use concrete examples and link to protocol specifications or official documentation. Example addresses and configurations illustrate a concept; they are not claims about measurements or production outcomes. All launch articles were published on October 10, 2026.
Small by design
This site is a collection of static pages. The tools run in your browser using local JavaScript. There are no accounts, databases, advertising scripts or analytics trackers.
Privacy
Tool input is not uploaded. The web server keeps short-lived access logs for operating the site; a request includes its address, path, time and user agent. Do not put secrets in URLs. Your browser extensions and clipboard remain outside the site’s control.
A notebook that can change
Technical guidance has a context and a date. Check the official references for current behavior before applying a configuration. The changelog records actual changes to the site.
